IZZY OM
DIRECTOR/FOUNDER
Coach Izzy Om began playing basketball at the age of 9 for the City of Cerritos Recreational League and Norwalk Youth Sports (NYS). Coach Izzy went on to play 4 years of varsity basketball at Fairmont Preparatory Academy where she was named CIF Open Division Honorable Mention, 2nd Team All-Orange County, 2nd Team All-CIF Division 1, San Joaquin Player of the Year, All-Nikkei, and Female Athlete of the Year. Coach Izzy also competed in the Nike EYBL for Cal Swish where she was ranked #2 the country for Assist Rate.
Following her high school career, Coach Izzy played NCAA Division 1 college basketball at the University at Albany where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development and Law. Shortly after graduating college, she was selected to represent the country of Cambodia in the 2023 Southeast Asian Olympics (SEA Games).
camryn hamaguchi
Coach Camryn Hamaguchi is a graduate of Kennedy High School. She was a four year varsity athlete in basketball, serving as team captain while earning numerous accolades including Empire League MVP in 2016, Kennedy’s Athlete of the Year in 2017, and First Team All-Sunset honors. She continued her athletic and academic career at Chapman University, where she competed in both collegiate basketball and track & field while earning a Bachelor of Science in Business. Coach Camryn later received her Master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine.
With over 10 years of youth basketball coaching experience, her coaching journey includes serving as the former Director of Ironmen Basketball, assistant girls varsity coach at Kennedy High School, head girls JV coach at Mater Dei High School, assistant women’s basketball coach at Concordia University, Irvine at the NCAA Division II level, Assistant coach for Yonsei Basketball and currently as the head girls varsity basketball coach at Fountain Valley High School.
Coach Camryn serves as Director of Coaches for OC Royals Basketball, where she oversees and mentors all coaches within the program. She also actively coaches multiple teams, including 3rd Grade Girls Gold, 3rd Grade Girls Black, 5th Grade Girls Gold, High School Girls Gold, and 8U Boy.
When she’s not coaching, she works full time at Concordia University, serving as a social & recruitment graduate program coordinator for the Masters in Coaching program.
Dani iwami
Coach Dani Iwami was a four-year varsity starter at Los Alamitos High School. She was a 2x Sunset League MVP, 2x First Team All-Sunset League, and CIF Division 1AA First Team.
Coach Dani earned a full ride scholarship to play NCAA Division II basketball at Hawaii Pacific University then transferred to Western Washington and won Newcomer of the Year. She was a 5 year GNAC All Academic Award Athlete.
She was a 3-year team captain, made the top 10 in assists, and became 13th in all-time made 3s at WWU.

Iris hasegawa
Coach Iris started playing basketball in the 8th grade with OCBC and club. Coach Iris went on to play 4 years of Varsity basketball at Westminster High School and Fountain Valley High School where she made Second Team All Sunset League her junior year and First Team All League her senior year. She coached at Ocean View High School the following year and then went on to play two years of college basketball. Coach Iris then went back to Ocean View High School to coach two years. After that Coach Iris coached at Ironmen basketball and coached JV at Fountain Valley High School for two years.
lauren fujitani
Coach Lauren Fujitani started playing basketball at the age of four through Wintersburg Presbyterian Church (WPC) and continued with the organization through high school. In 2018, she was selected to travel to Fukuoka, Japan with Yonsei Basketball Association as part of their 25th team. Coach Lauren enjoyed the two year commitment of playing internationally, building lifelong friendships, and learning more about her Japanese culture. In high school, she became a four year varsity basketball and golf athlete at Villa Park High School. For basketball, she earned 1st Team All North Hills League honors and was selected as an OC North/South All-Star player. One of her most valued achievements was receiving the “Kathy Stevens Award” (MVP). For golf, she was awarded Crestview League Honorable Mention
In 2024, Coach Lauren began her coaching career. Later that year, she became the head coach for the Frosh/Soph Girls Basketball team at Fountain Valley High School and has since moved up to serve as the head coach for the Junior Varsity team. In August 2025, Coach Lauren joined OC Royals. She enjoys building strong relationships with her players and their families both on and off the court.
Outside of coaching basketball, Coach Lauren can often be found with a camera in hand, capturing special moments for athletes and individuals. She is a sports and portrait photographer/videographer and is the founder of Aiko Imaging.
brit hamaguchi
Coach Britney Hamaguchi is a former multi-sport athlete. She competed in four years of varsity basketball at both Fountain Valley High School and Kennedy High School, while also playing three years of varsity golf. Throughout her high school career, Coach Britney was the team captain, earned All-Empire League Honorable Mention honors, as well as recognition on both the All-Sunset League Academic Team and All-Empire League Academic Team. Known for her leadership and court vision, she finished as the season leader in assists during her time at Kennedy High School.
Coach Britney went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising from University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Outside of coaching, she works professionally as a fashion merchandiser for Macy’s SCP.
Lauren Richter
Coach Lauren Richter (also known as Coach Lo) is currently the Assistant Coach for Women’s Basketball at Concordia University, Irvine. A lifelong basketball player and coach, she brings experience from the collegiate, professional, and youth levels. She played six years of college basketball, three seasons for a professional summer league, and one professional season in Honduras.
Coach Lo earned her Master’s in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine. She previously coached women’s basketball at Jessup University, has been a private basketball trainer for four years, and served as a manager with the Stockton Kings of the NBA G League.
Coach Lo is passionate about developing athletes both on and off the court. She believes coaching is about building meaningful relationships, creating confidence, and helping each athlete grow into the best version of themselves.
cary makiyama
Coach Cary Makiyama grew up playing basketball at a young age through Norwalk Youth Sports, where he developed a strong passion for the game and the values it teaches both on and off the court. He continued his basketball career at Los Alamitos High School, competing in the Open Division at the varsity level. During his time there, he led the team in assists and was ranked 58th in California in assists, earning recognition as a team-first player and leader on the court.
Following high school, Coach Cary continued playing competitively while also developing a passion for coaching and mentoring young athletes. He has since coached various youth basketball teams, focusing on skill development, confidence building, teamwork, and helping players grow both as athletes and individuals.
In addition to basketball, Coach Cary pursued a career in health and performance. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from California State University, Long Beach before receiving his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. He currently serves as the primary physical therapist at Alamitos Physical Therapy, where he works with patients of all ages and backgrounds to help them recover, move better, and perform at their highest level.
By combining his experience as both a competitive athlete and licensed physical therapist, Coach Cary brings a unique approach to coaching that emphasizes player development, injury prevention, athletic performance, and creating a positive environment for young athletes to succeed.
parker rodriguez
Coach Parker Rodriguez was a two-year varsity starter and team captain at Fountain Valley High School. During his time there, he set the school record for the highest three-point shooting percentage in a single season and ranked among the top five players in Orange County for most three-pointers made in a season. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, he was recognized with the Athlete with Character Award.
Coach Parker began his coaching career as the Freshman Head Coach at Fountain Valley High School and has since advanced to serve as the Head Coach of the Junior Varsity team.
Kaleb nakano
Coach Kaleb Nakano began playing basketball at the age of five through the VFW Youth Group of Orange County, where he developed a strong passion for the game and the values of teamwork, discipline, and community. Around the same age, he also began playing travel baseball, continuing to build his love for competition and athletics throughout his youth while volunteering within the community.
Coach Kaleb attended Norwalk High School, where he was a four-year varsity letterman in both basketball and baseball. Along with his athletic accomplishments, he excelled academically as a top 20 student in his class all four years and graduated 10th overall in the Class of 2023 as a Principal Honor Roll student. During his athletic career at Norwalk, he earned recognition on the All-CIF Academic Team, was named 2nd Team All-Suburban League, and received Mid-Cities League Pitcher of the Year honors in baseball.
Following high school, Coach Kaleb attended Fullerton College, where he continued his baseball career and had a successful season before transferring to Hope International University to continue competing at the collegiate level. Alongside athletics, he also earned his Associate of Arts degree in Child and Adolescent Development. His experiences as both a student and athlete have helped shape his leadership, competitiveness, and passion for mentoring young athletes.
Coach Kaleb began his coaching career in the summer of 2023 by helping local youth baseball programs throughout the city of Norwalk. In September 2024, he joined the OC Royals coaching staff, working skill clinics and camps focused on player development and fundamentals. In August 2025, he officially began coaching within the OC Royals boys program, continuing his commitment to helping athletes grow in skill, confidence, and character both on and off the court.
sophie hsieh
Coach Sophie Hsieh started playing basketball when she was five years old. Most recently, she played four years on the Varsity team at Fountain Valley High School and in her time there, she received team MVP, DPOY, 2x Coach's Awards, and 2x First-Team All Sunset League. In her sophomore year, she also played flag football, leading the team in touchdowns and earning offensive MVP.
Coach Sophie is graduating high school this year, Magna Cum Laude with a 4.74 GPA. She is planning to major in Biology at Tufts University.
liz tirona
Coach Liz Tirona started playing basketball in second grade through the Cerritos Recreation Youth League. Here, she developed her love for basketball and established her position as a life-long point guard. Coach Liz attended Kennedy High School, where she played four years on Varsity and was captain for three of them. During her time in high school, she was awarded 3x First-Team All Empire/Golden West League. She holds the school records for both career assists with 461 assists from 2022–2026 and single-season assists with 131 assists during the 2024–2025 season. Coach Liz is graduating high school this year with a 4.4 GPA and is planning to major in Biochemistry at Stony Brook University.
bailey dinh
Coach Bailey Dinh found the love of playing basketball in the fifth grade with Orange County Optimist (OCO). Later that year, she started her AAU career playing with Ironmen Basketball. Coach Bailey is currently a student at Fountain Valley High School. She started on varsity as a freshman and was awarded 2nd All Sunset League. She started her coaching career at the beginning of 2026.
COLBY SAKO
Coach Colby Sako grew up around the sport of basketball and was lucky enough to start playing AAU at the age of seven. When he was in second grade he started playing for a local club team and that's where he learned everything he knew about the sport. While playing AAU, he was also apart of Orange County Optimist (OCO) and other recreational leagues like North County. As high school came around, Coach Colby was fortunate enough to play three years on varsity and was able to win DPOTY for one of them. He was able to start on varsity his freshman year at Fairmont Prep, which was definitely a wakeup call for him because he ended his high school career at Portola High School. Coach Colby is now attending Cal State Fullerton and majoring in Business.
RYAN FUJITANI
Coach Ryan Fujitani developed a passion for basketball at the age of four while playing for Wintersburg Presbyterian Church (WPC), where he continued competing throughout his childhood and high school years. During this time, he also played several years of AAU basketball with Ironmen Basketball Association. In 2020, Coach Ryan was selected to represent the Yonsei Basketball Association’s 27th team and was honored as captain of the boys team. Due to Covid, the team’s opportunity to travel and compete in Kochi, Japan was postponed until the summer following their senior year.
Coach Ryan was a multi-sport athlete at Villa Park High School, participating in both basketball and golf. He played four years of basketball, including one year at the varsity level, and three years of golf, with two years on varsity. In golf, he earned Team MVP honors during his senior year.
Following high school, Coach Ryan enrolled at Biola University, where he is pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Financial Planning. In addition to his academic studies, he remains actively involved in the Youth Ministry and Sports Ministry at Wintersburg Presbyterian Church. He currently serves as a middle school boys small group leader and as the SEYO High School boys basketball coach.
natalie pham
Coach Natalie Pham started playing basketball in 7th grade through NJB and continued playing through her senior year at Villa Park High School, where she played as a point guard and was named MVP. She was also a member of the Villa Park Dance Team throughout all four years of high school.
Coach Natalie is excited to continue her love for basketball through coaching and currently serves as an assistant coach for the 5th Grade Girls team at OC Royals, previously the FV Frosh Soph Head Coach, and now as a JV assistant coach at Fountain Valley High School. She enjoys helping young athletes build confidence, develop their skills, and most importantly, have fun playing the game.
Outside of basketball, Coach Natalie works full time as a Data Analyst & Analytics Engineer. In her free time, she enjoys staying active through Pilates and cycling, trying new food spots, and finding a good matcha!
